Job description

The Shipping and Receiving position is responsible for loading and unloading inbound and outbound products and material. Once unloaded, inbound materials are to be transferred to a suitable holding area in a safe and orderly manner, and packing slips taken directly to the proper person (i.e. crib attendant). Outbound freight is to be skidded and/or packaged in a conscientious manner using a packing list or other written information provided.
Qualifications

  • Basic carpentry experience
Responsibilities
  • Promote excellence throughout the department
  • Final quality and completeness check for outbound materials
  • Initial quality check of inbound materials
  • Extensive material handling, forklift and overhead crane rigging
  • Safety stickers and tag placement
  • Check list completion
  • Securing manuals to equipment
  • Dimensional verification of parts
  • Cutting of helix casings
  • Work in other areas of the operation as directed by supervision
  • Monitor inventory of shipping supplies including the use of Kanban cards
  • Local pick-up and drop-off of items
  • Transportation of company documents
  • Others are assigned by supervision
  • The employee will supply all basic tools
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
