Sommaire des taches

En tant que Pilote d'Essai Experimental, la ou le titulaire met a l'essai fonctionnel de prototypes, evalue et approuve les modifications d'aeronef et les nouveaux types d'aeronef d'assurer un produit de haute qualite selon les normes de certification militaires, de la FAA et du ministere de Transport Canada.

Le pilote d'essai experimental participe a la conception des aeronefs, a la preparation des plans et des rapports de test de developpement et de certification ainsi qu'a l'execution des tests au sol et en vol de facon securitaire.

Ce poste inclut aussi la familiarisation, la formation aux clients et les vols de receptions tant pour les clients militaires que pour les clients civils. Ces vols sont souvent executes aux installations du client et demandent de frequents voyages nationaux et internationaux.

Le developpement du produit, les vols d'evaluation et les demonstrations aux clients sont effectues de tres pres avec les services de marketing commercial et militaire, de l'ingenierie, du controle de la qualite, de la fabrication et du soutien technique.

Exigences minimales requises:

  • Experience en tant que pilote d'essai experimental et/ou pilote de production.
  • 4500 heures de vol comme commandant de bord d'helicoptere comprenant des heures d'experience acquises sur des produits de Bell ou, etre gradue d'une ecole de pilotes d'essai reconnue et 2000 heures de vol d'helicoptere.
  • Licence CPL ou ATPL(H) TCCA, IFR groupe 4 valide, 
  • Licence CPL ou ATPL(H) FAA et/ou d'instructeur de vol serait un atout.
  • Connaissance fonctionnelle de la suite Microsoft Office.
  • Connaissance fonctionnelle du francais (un atout) et une connaissance parfaite de l'anglais requise.

Toute autre combinaison de scolarite et d'experience jugee equivalente pourra etre consideree.

Summary of job description

As Experimental Test Pilot, the incumbent functionally tests, evaluates and approves aircraft modifications and new aircraft types in order to insure a high quality product according to engineering, manufacturing and FAA, TCCA or EASA certification standards.  

The experimental test pilot is involved in the conception of the design changes, the preparation of the development and certification plans as well as the execution of safe and efficient ground and flight testing.

This position duties include familiarization flights, customer training and customer acceptance flights for both military and civilian customers.  These flights are often conducted at customer's operational areas and require frequent travel Nationally and Internationally.  

Product development, evaluation and demonstration flights are conducted in close liaison with commercial and military marketing, engineering, quality control, manufacturing and product support departments.

Candidate Experience:

  • Experience as a test pilot and/or as a production pilot.
  • 4500 hours pilot in command helicopter flight time and experience on Bell products or being a graduate from a recognized test pilot school and 2000 hours of helicopter flight time.
  • CPL/ATPL (H) TCCA, valid group 4 IFR,
  • Instructor or FAA CPL/ATPL (H) license are considered assets.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Functional knowledge of French (asset) and perfect knowledge of English required.

Any other combination of schooling and experience deemed equivalent may be considered.
