What are hedge funds?

Hedge funds are investment funds that pool capital from accredited individuals or institutional investors and use a variety of strategies to earn active returns for their investors. They often employ complex techniques such as leverage, derivatives, and short selling to generate positive returns regardless of market conditions. Hedge funds are typically less regulated than mutual funds and are only open to qualified investors, which allows them greater flexibility in their investment choices. These funds aim to reduce risk and maximize returns, though they can also involve higher fees and risks compared to traditional investment vehicles.

Job description

About Us:

YipitData is the leading market research and analytics firm for the disruptive economy and recently raised up to $475M from The Carlyle Group at a valuation over $1B.

We analyze billions of alternative data points every day to provide accurate, detailed insights on ridesharing, e-commerce marketplaces, payments and more. Our on-demand insights team uses proprietary technology to identify, license, clean and analyze the data many of the world's largest investment funds and corporations depend on.

For three years and counting, we have been recognized as one of Inc's Best Workplaces. We are a fast-growing technology company backed by The Carlyle Group and Norwest Venture Partners. Our offices are located in NYC, Austin, Miami, Denver, Mountain View, Seattle, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, and Singapore. We cultivate a people-centric culture focused on mastery, ownership, and transparency.

About the Role:

YipitData is the leading alternative data platform for institutional investors, giving hedge funds and asset managers the differentiated insights they need to make better investment decisions. We are a multi-modal platform, inclusive of data feeds, our Investor Portal, and AI-powered agents and MCPs, that are redefining how investors discover, analyze, and act on data.

Product Marketing sits at the intersection of Product and Revenue, ensuring what we build, how we position it, and how we sell it are tightly aligned. As we expand into AI-native workflows, this function plays a critical role in shaping how our platform is understood, launched, and sold to increasingly sophisticated buyers.

We're hiring aย Senior Product Marketing Manager to own that work for our Public Investor segment. You'll define positioning, lead product launches, and enable our commercial teams to bring the next generation of investor workflows to market. This is a foundational role with real scope, building core PMM capabilities for one of our most critical business lines. If you want to define how the future of investor workflows is understood and sold, this is your role.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Product Marketing Manager

  • Own product positioning and go-to-market strategy for a new generation of AI and big data products, shaping how investors understand and adopt data feeds, the Investor Portal and AI-powered solutions like agents and MCPs
  • Define ideal customer profiles (ICPs) and tailoring messaging to different investor segments (e.g., hedge funds vs. long-onlys)
  • Partner with Product, Revenue, and Insights teams to influence roadmap decisions based on market demand and customer insights
  • Lead competitive intelligence across both traditional data providers and emerging AI platforms to define clear differentiation
  • Collaborate on pricing and packaging across a multi-product platform spanning data, software, and AI
  • Develop and scale high-impact sales enablement and marketing assets that help commercial teams communicate complex products with clarity
  • Establish and tracking success metrics for GTM efforts (e.g., adoption, pipeline impact, win rates) and iterating based on performance

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing or a related role, ideally working on B2B, data, or AI-driven products
  • Strong ability to translate complex, technical capabilities into compelling narratives
  • Interest in or experience with AI and data products, with excitement for shaping how they are adopted in high-stakes investor workflows ย
  • Comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where the playbook is still being written
  • Experience working closely with product teams and influencing decisions early, not just at launch
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically, with ownership over outcomes end-to-end
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Bonus Points if you...

  • Have experience working with hedge funds, asset managers, or financial data products
  • Have a background in finance, investing, or data-driven research
  • Have built or scaled product marketing in a B2B or data-driven environment
  • Are familiar with frameworks like positioning, ICP development, or Jobs-to-Be-Done
  • MBA or MS in Marketing

Our compensation package includes comprehensive benefits, perks, a competitive salary, and equity:

  • The annual base salary for this position is anticipated to be $160,000 - $185,000, with a 10% performance bonus, and equity.
  • We care about your personal life, and we mean it. We offer flexible work hours, flexible vacation, a generous 401K match, parental leave, team events, wellness budget, learning reimbursement, and more!
  • Your growth at YipitData is determined by the impact that you are making, not by tenure, unnecessary facetime, or office politics. Everyone at YipitData is empowered to learn, self-improve, and master their skills in an environment focused on ownership, respect, and trust. See more on our high-impact, high-opportunity work environment above!

This role may be performed fully remotely within the United States.ย Please note that our US headquarters are located in NYC. We also have office hubs in Austin, Miami, Denver, Mountain View, and Seattle. If the remote work is performed outside of these offices, income may be subject to New York State tax withholding.

Please note that for this position, we are not able to consider candidates who currently or in the future will require visa sponsorship.

We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status. We are proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
