What is the opportunity?

The role is responsible for managing RBCs credit relationships with specified Hedge Fund managers, globally. The incumbent will participate cross sell all

RBC and RBC Capital Markets products and will partner with all of RBCCMs trading desks to ensure optimization of credit appetite, the use of trading

lines and maximize revenue with Hedge Fund managers on a global basis. The role is front office and client facing and includes responsibility for ensuring

the necessary support for trading desks to meet their established targets for growing revenues with Hedge Fund managers and for ensuring that coverage of Hedge Fund managers is closely coordinated with coverage of other related entities. (i.e. The asset managers parent FI or NBFI, where applicable).

What will you do?

  • Advise product partners on the optimal amount of trading credit required to meet our strategic objectives with each client relationship. Additionally, provide continuous advice on the balance of risk and return associated with specific types of trading activity contemplated as part of client strategies.
  • Prepare credit approval submissions and related documentation required as part of approval process, amendments, trading lines, periodic single name strategy exposure reviews.
  • Leverage existing network of contacts within the sector to be able to swiftly and effectively tackle challenging transaction requests. Assist in transactional opportunities to be pursued by RBC trading businesses and promote sales opportunities for various products (as applicable).
  • In coordination Capital Markets partners and other relevant RBC Partners, assist in the preparation and presentation of marketing pitches to existing and potential clients. Serve as the credit relationship manager and use every effort to assist in cross selling the products of Capital Markets and the Bank.
  • Continuous maintenance of accurate counterparty compliance reports including NAV and performance data.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Extensive knowledge of credit risks associated with Hedge Funds and the trading products they use
  • Proven record of successfully managing a credit relationship to Hedge Funds
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Credit trained
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively
    within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication, business development and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks while meeting
    time sensitive deadlines.
  • Strong financial accounting skills.
  • Strong analytical, technical, written and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Capital Markets product base and the application
    thereof.
  • Understanding of ISDA documentation, netting and CSAs.
  • Excellent knowledge of Credit and Credit Risk.

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $150,000- $180,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
