Professionals in this role analyze hydrological and hydraulic data to support flood risk management, infrastructure design, and environmental impact studies. They typically work for government agencies, engineering firms, or consulting companies specializing in water resources. Strong skills in GIS, fluid mechanics, and data analysis are often required.

What can you do with HEC-RAS?

A HEC-RAS specialist uses the software to model and analyze river hydraulics, floodplain mapping, and water flow behavior. The role involves creating simulations, interpreting results, and supporting flood risk management and hydraulic design projects, often requiring knowledge of hydrology and GIS tools.
