Project Overview:

The project is a 1.3 GW simple-cycle power generation facility located in Millersport, Ohio, being constructed adjacent to a hyperscale data center campus. The facility includes multiple power generation technologies consisting of Solar Titan 130 gas turbines, Siemens SGT800 gas turbines, reciprocating engines, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, and associated balance of plant infrastructure. The scope includes major civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, underground utility, control systems, and commissioning works required to support phased energization and turnover of the facility. Construction will be executed through a combination of direct hire and subcontracted labor supported by modularization, pre-assembly, offsite warehousing, and advanced work packaging methodologies.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team to provide rigging/heavy haul engineering support to a large project. You will review and approve transport studies, determine equipment requirements, develop strategies for project management, assign work tasks, and monitor progress. Your team will ensure the project has the rigging resources available with the proper qualifications to support the planned work scopes. #LI-BH1

Major Responsibilities:
  • May serve as Lead Rigging Superintendent, providing discipline supervision of superintendents
  • Provides oversight & technical direction to subordinates and subcontractors.
  • Coordinates with Superintendents and the Lead Project Rigging Engineer to validate manpower and rigger qualification requirements.
  • Reviews weekly scheduled work plans with discipline superintendents to ensure the project has the rigging resources available with the proper qualifications to support the planned work scopes.
  • Ensures that scheduling concerns and constraints are identified and elevated to the construction management team.
  • Order tools and equipment needed for lifting operation
  • Overall responsibility to inspect lifting beams, spreader bars, slings, etc., and keep them in proper storage and optimal conditions.
  • Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience with large-scale industrial or infrastructure construction projects
  • Strong understanding of rigging operations
  • Knowledge and experience preparing and understanding lifting plans of mechanical equipment
  • Experience with survey coordination
  • Understanding of SWPP, heavy lift classification
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical & piping drawings and specifications
  • Strong coordination and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with document control systems
