This is a unique opportunity to be part of a newly constructed Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), Ladle Metallurgical Furnace (LMF), RH Degasser, & Slab Caster giving candidates a chance to set a new standard for safety quality and production in the steel making industry, not just here in United States but worldwide.
The Basics:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a heavy industrial setting, such as steel mill, paper mill, manufacturing, mining, or like environment
  • Advanced knowledge of tools and equipment used for industrial purposes, to include cranes, fork trucks, heavy machinery, and hand and power tools
  • Basic math and reading comprehension skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot problems

The Extras:
  • Previous experience working in steel manufacturing preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Operate and monitor steelmaking equipment to include Ladle Metallurgy Furnace (LMF), and RH degasser
  • Monitor position and condition of ladle during RH/LMF operations
  • Collaborate with Furnace operator to control and maintain temperature of molten metal coming from furnaces
  • Use computerized controls to monitor rate of circulation of steel in vessels
  • Take temperature and material sample of molten steel
  • Add alloys according to chemistry specs
