Job description

Engineering & Maintenance Manager – Heavy Industry
We’re seeking a strategic Engineering & Maintenance Manager for our client to implement productivity improvements in their heavy industrial manufacturing environment, oversee the Maintenance Team and bring curiosity & a desire to understand & apply AI in new ways.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS Include:

  • Proven leadership experience in a heavy industry manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in manufacturing automation, process engineering, or productivity improvement
  • Working knowledge of electronics systems such as PLCs, controllers, and industrial automation technologies
  • Experience managing or overseeing a Maintenance team.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to see the big picture and translate it into tactical execution
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, highly preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Include:

  • Lead development & execution of engineering strategies to enhance automation, productivity & manufacturing efficiency
  • Identify & implement emerging technologies, including AI, to optimize production processes.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and IT to integrate smart manufacturing initiatives
  • Oversee and support the Maintenance team, fostering a culture of Safety, continuous improvement & asset management
  • Evaluate, select & implement automation tools, systems, and platforms to streamline production
  • Monitor KPIs and drive improvements through data analysis and process redesign
  • Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team aligned with the company’s long-term goals
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements in engineering and maintenance activities
