Job Summary:
Supervise a team of Three employees to operate AF and TF Furnace, quench barrel and straightener from pulpit control station.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitors and adjusts furnaces and related equipment to ensure products are treated to meet customer and internal specifications.
  • Operates heating, cooling, and transport equipment in a safe and efficient manner within manufacturer guidelines.
  • Performs various inspection tasks of equipment and products to promote sustained quality and stability of the entire heat treating line.
  • Accurately and timely records/reports data to department leaders.
  • Utilizes computer systems and various software to proficiently track the entire process and adjust parameters.
  • Maintain an orderly, safe working environment.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Education: High School or equivalent
Years of Experience: 2+ years heat treating steel products preferable tubular goods
Number of Direct Reports: 3-5
Job Titles of Direct Reports: Straightener operator, Stenciled operator, Furnace operator
Skills and Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using while numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Must be computer literate and able to work with programs such as Word, Excel, etc., and be able to learn and use HP programs such as e-mail, ERP system, etc.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; Good communication skills
