Job description

PRN Medical Sonographer (Ultrasound Technician)

We are searching for a PRN (as needed) Medical Sonographer (Ultrasound Technician) to join our innovative Wellness program and work in our Houston area. This position is in and around Houston, Texas with the potential for travel within central Texas.

The Ultrasound Technologist will perform echocardiographic exams, screening of all arterial and venous, upper and lower extremities, and screening of thyroid, aorta, and renal exams. Screening and Diagnostic exams may be performed.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform patient exams to include:
    • Carotid ultrasound.
    • Thyroid ultrasound.
    • Aortic aneurysm screening.
    • Kidney ultrasound.
    • Limited Echocardiogram (training will be provided).
    • Lower Extremity US.
  • Submission of high-quality images and documentation.
  • Enter and maintain accurate electronic patient records.
  • Ensure patient rooms are clean, sterilized, safe, and organized with adequate supplies and well-functioning equipment.
  • Communicate with patients, helping each understand the US screening process.
  • Deliver compassionate patient care and customer satisfaction.
  • Precise, professional communication with management team.

Education and Experience:

  • 1 year experience.
  • Certified Medical Sonographer.
  • Preferred: Registered Vascular Technician or Vascular Ultrasound Technician.
  • Must be willing to train on Echo.
  • Accountability.
  • Attention to detail.

Job Types: PRN (As needed)

Salary: From $36.00 to $43 per hour.

Schedule:

  • Day shift: Between 8:00a-5:30p.
  • Monday to Friday (occasional Saturdays).

Travel requirement:

  • Up to 25% travel.

Experience:

  • Sonography: 1 year (Required).

Language:

  • Spanish (Preferred).

License/Certification:

  • BLS Certification (Preferred).
  • ARRT Certification (Preferred).

Ability to Commute:

  • Houston, TX (Required).
