Role: Technical Writer


Location: Remote (Must be available to work EST hours)


Position Overview:


The Technical Writer will provide expertise related to quality control and quality assurance review and provide technical security documentation. Specifically, looking for someone that is familiar with system security assessments or the NIST SP 800-53 controls, with a strong background in technical writing in the cybersecurity space. Additionally, the technical writer will execute data entry into databases and applications, develops and maintains complex schedules and project

plans and generate relevant reports, technical writing support to analyze existing Agency policy and assist in the development of technical security policies, processes, plans.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Provide expertise related to quality control and quality assurance review and provide technical security documentation.
  • Execute data entry into databases and applications, develops and maintains complex schedules and project plans and generate relevant reports, technical writing support to analyze existing Agency policy and assist in the development of technical security policies, processes, plans.
  • Plan, write, edit and revise technical information and documents, including user manuals, general overviews, configuration/installation instructions, tutorials, test plans, and product specifications.
  • Collaborate with the team of technical writers, and facilitate product and software development teams.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in listed tasks
  • US Citizenship Required - Must have or be eligible to obtain a Public Trust Clearance



Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with MS Office Products.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Capability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment with attention to details.
  • Transform complex documentation into simple concepts that are easy to understand by the end-users.
  • Evaluate the user feedback to retrieve information on documentation and use it to enhance usability.
  • Experience with technical writer and documentation concepts and standards (e.g., accessibility standards).
  • Knowledge with RMF and applying the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

  • Ability to work cooperatively at technical and professional level with developers, engineers, and managers on system teams.
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks and duties simultaneously while effectively coordinating and ensuring that scheduled delivery dates and milestones are achieved.

  • Ability to take initiative on assigned tasks and work with minimal supervision.
