Description
The Account Executive - Mid-Missouri Region serves as MAWD's primary regional liaison between Clients, Clinical Partners, Sales Leadership, and Operational Teams. This role is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, supporting regional business development efforts, and coordinating operational resources to ensure exceptional service delivery.
The Account Executive gathers operational and market intelligence to support sustainable growth strategies while ensuring client needs are effectively communicated across MAWD departments. This position manages onboarding activities for new clients, provides ongoing account support, and promotes MAWD services to expand utilization within the region.
This is a highly collaborative and visible role requiring regular interaction with leadership, laboratory personnel, and healthcare partners across the MAWD enterprise. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, operational awareness, and the ability to balance relationship management with organizational coordination.
This position supports MAWD's Mid-Missouri (MidMo) service area and may be structured as either full-time or benefits-eligible part-time depending on organizational and candidate needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Client Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned MidMo clients
  • Conduct regular client visits to maintain strong professional relationships
  • Ensure client requirements and expectations are clearly understood and communicated internally
  • Provide after-sales support to promote satisfaction and long-term retention
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries and concerns

Business Development & Regional Growth
  • Identify and pursue opportunities with prospective clients within the region
  • Support development and execution of regional sales strategies
  • Promote MAWD services and solutions to encourage account growth ("same-store growth")
  • Communicate product offerings, service capabilities, and pricing structures effectively

Operational Coordination
  • Coordinate between MAWD operational teams, technical centers, and client locations to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Gather operational and logistical information (facility size, workflows, service needs, opportunities)
  • Assist in onboarding new clients to ensure a smooth transition and exceptional client experience
  • Support integration of MAWD Kansas City operations and specialty services when appropriate

Communication & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and regional activities
  • Provide regular verbal and written updates to leadership regarding account status and opportunities
  • Escalate operational or service concerns appropriately and timely
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance client experience and operational efficiency

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Education / Certifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
Experience / Abilities:
• 3-7 years of experience in client relations, healthcare operations, laboratory services, or sales support
• Strong customer service and relationship management skills
• Ability to coordinate across multiple departments and stakeholders
• Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
• Proficiency with standard business software and reporting tools
TRAVEL AND HOURS
• Primarily Monday-Friday schedule
• Moderate regional travel required (approximately 25%-40%)
• Position based within the Mid-Missouri region
