Job description

About Vector Health
Vector Health helps rural hospitals unlock financial aid for their patients by identifying medical mutual aid opportunities through non-profits. Our platform ingests sensitive patient data from hospitals, applies patients for funding, and manages the flow of reimbursements. We're building a scalable, secure, and high-impact healthcare infrastructure product that directly supports patient outcomes.
About the Role
We're looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join our early-stage team and help build core parts of our product across both the backend and frontend. You'll work closely with our Co-Founder /CTO and a small group of passionate teammates to deliver secure, scalable systems and intuitive user interfaces for hospitals, patients, and internal users.
This role is a great opportunity if you're a mid-level engineer looking to take ownership of meaningful projects, grow across the stack, and make a direct impact in the healthcare space.
What You'll Do:
  • Build and maintain full stack features and data pipelines using Laravel/PHP, Vue, Python and AWS
  • Collaborate with our data team to integrate Python-based pipelines that process hospital and patient data
  • Help design and develop APIs and internal tools that support hospital workflows and nonprofit integrations
  • Build user-friendly, responsive interfaces for healthcare providers and internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with Product and Operations to understand user needs and translate them into scalable features; you will be an integral part of Product Development Lifecycle and involved in production decisions
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and grow your skills in system design, security, and performance
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment workflows to ensure reliability and maintainability

What We're Looking For:
  • 3-6 years of professional experience as a software engineer
  • Solid experience working with Laravel/PHP or similar backend frameworks
  • Comfort with frontend development using JavaScript (React, Vue, or similar)
  • Some experience with Python, especially in the context of data processing or scripting
  • Understanding of REST APIs, databases (SQL), and version control (Git)
  • Curious and motivated to learn about scalability, data privacy, and healthcare tech
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, early-stage environment with evolving requirements
  • Bonus if you have experience with healthcare data (FHIR, HL7), AWS, or DevOps practices

Why Join Us?
  • Work on a product that directly improves access to healthcare for underserved communities
  • Collaborate with a tight-knit, mission-driven team where your contributions matter
  • Gain end-to-end exposure to building modern software-frontend, backend, data, and cloud
  • Grow quickly by working on impactful projects and learning from experienced teammates
  • Shape not just our tech, but our company culture and values as we grow

If you're a full stack engineer ready to take the next step in your career while building something meaningful, we'd love to hear from you. Come build with us at Vector Health.
