Position Details:
Join the Emergency Department team at Hartford Hospital , a nationally recognized Level I Trauma Center and flagship hospital within Hartford HealthCare . This Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant role offers the opportunity to practice Emergency Medicine in a high-acuity academic setting alongside experienced attendings and residents, caring for patients across all triage levels. Providers are supported through strong collaboration, procedural training, mentorship, and professional development within one of New England's busiest and most respected emergency departments.
Role: Open to Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP) and Physician Assistants (PA)
Location: Hartford, CT
Setting: Emergency Department / Level I Trauma Center
Schedule: Full-time, rotating days and nights

Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants Role Scope:
Under established guidelines and in collaboration with Emergency Medicine physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with a wide range of acute illnesses, injuries, and trauma conditions. Providers perform procedures within scope, formulate treatment plans, coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, and determine appropriate consultation or escalation of care when needed. APPs practice in a fast-paced, dynamic clinical environment with opportunities for continued procedural and clinical skill development.

Requirements:
Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
Training: APRN (Family Nurse Practitioner) or PA
Experience: 1+ years' experience in an emergency medicine or related setting
  • Experience with suturing, splinting/casting, minor procedures, and acute care assessment preferred.
