Job description

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH NURSE - BUSINESS HEALTH
Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
Part Time (.6 FTE, 48 hours every pay period), day shift, generally no weekends

The Occupational Health Nurse provides patient and employer required services per the Aspirus Business Health program. Professional medical surveillance assistance is provided including post-offer physical, drug screening, hearing conservation, respiratory protection, and other OSHA, other regulatory and employment required programs. Assist through employer onsite, or in clinic, assignment with case management of work injury or illness, wellness services support, safety and health program implementation and evaluation, etc. Work collaboratively with department staff, providers and employers in providing business health services.
Experience/Qualifications
  • Knowledge of patient care standards and practices is normally acquired through completion of a Diploma, associate degree or bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • CAOHC technician training or obtaining within the first 6 months of hire if applicable to work site location.
  • NIOSH spirometry course completion or obtaining each within the first 6 months of hire if applicable to work site location.
  • Completion of respirator first testing procedures within the first 3 months of hire if applicable to work site location.
  • Completion of DOT Drug and Alcohol collection training within the first 3 months of hire if applicable to work site location.
  • Completion of the Aspirus mandated training on PPD placement and reading within the first 3 months of hire if applicable to work site location.
  • Course work in the areas of occupational health nursing, strongly preferred.
  • At least one year experience in occupational health nursing preferred or two plus years' experience in clinical nursing will be evaluated based upon area of experience and relatedness to the scope of an occupational health nurse.
  • Experience and knowledge of workers' compensation requirements and medical management practices preferred.
  • Course completion and experience in performing audiometric screening, spirometry screening, DOT drug and Alcohol collection preferred.
  • Proficiency with using Microsoft Office, EPIC, Systoc or other medical records systems preferred.
  • Current Wisconsin RN license, in good standing.
  • Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
