Technical Writer The Opportunity:

Connecting program operations to customer priorities, values, and objectives, highlighting program leadership and innovation, mission and program management impacts, and excellence-in-service and delivery is critical to success. As a journeyman technical writer professional, you know how to communicate effectively with program stakeholders to achieve maximum results. We're looking for an experienced technical writer that will position the program to earn the maximum award fee score possible by reflecting the superior customer delivery of our team. You'll build guides, Award Fee Self-Assessment (AFSA) templates, and training for each Award Fee Period (AFP), incorporating scoring criteria derived from the Award Fee Determination Plan (AFDP) and the program's response strategy. You'll also serve as curator and editor of AFSA reports and presentations, perform internal post-award assessments, capture best practices and lessons learned, and refine performance management processes for future AFPs. You'll also write and edit technical documentation to address program challenges with effective, tailored solutions.

You Have:
  • 3+ years of experience writing and editing technical documentation

  • Experience developing or contributing to solutions for a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity

  • Knowledge of the award fee determination process

  • Ability to work independently and provide more junior personnel guidance

  • Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written form with multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and work in a deadline-driven environment

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with the Intelligence Community (IC), the Department of Defense (DoD), or FEDSIM programs

  • Experience supporting Cost Plus Award Fee (CPAF) or Cost-Plus Incentive Fee (CPIF) contracts

  • Experience with leading or performing AFSA activities

  • Experience with project or program management

  • Knowledge of the client's communications channels and client culture

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships using people skills

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Master's degree

  • PMI CAPM or PMP Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $55,200.00 to $126,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
