Job description

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician with a Missouri license? If you're looking to use your skills to make a meaningful impact in the lives of shelter animals, we have an incredible opportunity for you at the Humane Society of Missouri's Adoption Center.
About the Role
As a Registered Veterinary Technician in our Adoption Center, you will be at the forefront of providing care to animals in need. Your daily responsibilities will include conducting routine exams, administering medications, and performing lab tests. You'll be instrumental in maintaining the health and well-being of animals, especially those that are sick or injured, following the guidance of our veterinarians.
In this role, your organizational skills and attention to detail will be crucial as you manage medical records, ensure timely treatments, and contribute to the smooth operation of our examination room. You'll need to be comfortable working in emotionally challenging settings, where your compassion and professionalism will help you thrive. We also ask that you're available to work on weekends, as our animals need care every day of the week.
What We're Looking For
  • Missouri Veterinary Technician License: RVT's at HSMO are required to hold a valid state license.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience handling animals is required.
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Skills: We value exceptional organizational skills, strong internal customer service abilities, and computer literacy.

Why Join Our Team?
Working at the Humane Society of Missouri isn't just a job; it's a chance to make a real difference in the lives of animals and the people who love them. We offer a competitive compensation package that includes:
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Enjoy medical, dental, and vision insurance to keep you and your family healthy.
  • Paid Time Off: We offer vacation, sick days, and holiday pay to ensure you have time to recharge.
  • Employee Discounts: Take advantage of discounts on veterinary services, prescription diets, adoptions, and our gift shop. Plus, you'll receive a discount through the Purina for Professionals program.

If you're passionate about animal welfare and want to use your veterinary skills in a meaningful way, we'd love to hear from you. Join us in our mission to provide second chances to animals in need.
