Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Shift: M-F 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Type: Direct Hire

Our client provides on-site power integration for large data scale centers.
About the job: As a Safety Inspector, you will lead the front-line enforcement of safety practices and procedures on the plant floor. This is a high-visibility, boots-on-the-ground position responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by actively monitoring operations, correcting unsafe behaviors or conditions, and fostering a strong safety culture. This role requires 85-90% of time spent on the plant floor-there is no designated office space as presence and engagement with the workforce is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively patrol the production floor to identify unsafe behaviors, hazards, or non-compliance with safety standards.
- Provide real-time coaching, correction, and guidance to employees regarding safe work practices.
- Conduct daily safety walk-throughs and hazard recognition inspections.
- Serve as the first line of safety enforcement-intervening immediately when unsafe practices are observed.
- Work closely with supervisors and team-leads to reinforce safe practices and address recurring safety issues.
- Support incident investigations by gathering witness statements and identifying root causes.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
- Monitor use of PPE, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, forklift & crane safety, and other critical safety requirements.
- Participate in daily production meetings to provide safety input and awareness.
- Maintain detailed safety observation logs and generate reports for management review.
- Recommend changes to improve safety processes and drive continuous improvement.
