Organization: United Way of the Midlands Job Title: Program Assistant (Weatherization Program) Department: Programs, Weatherization Assistant Program FLSA Status: Part-time, Hourly, Non-Exempt Location: Omaha, NE (on-site) About United Way of the Midlands: Since 1923, United Way of the Midlands (UWM) has served the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro by bringing together the business, government, and not-for-profit sectors and raising money to support our communitys most impactful health and human service programs. UWMs funded programs and direct services including JAG Nebraska, 211, and the Weatherization Assistance Program focus on four key areas to improve health and well-being for all, build financial stability and strength, help young people realize their full potential, and address urgent needs today to advance a better tomorrow. Program Assistant Summary: The Program Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Manager, Eligibility Operations through various administrative and clerical duties and will provide support to various programs and projects. Responsibilities: Provides support to the Manager, Eligibility Operations Assists in 211 and Weatherization programs and projects Verifies, organizes applications and assists in approvals and denials Communicates between Weatherization Program participants Communicates between 211 Financial Assistance program participants Attends staff meetings and takes notes Makes copies and updates participant and program files as needed Assists with inbound calls when needed. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities: Detail oriented with the ability to navigate within structured timelines and regulations. Excellent time management skills Excellent interpersonal skills Creative thinking Excellent phone etiquette Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information. Knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint Must have polite, clear and compelling oral and written communication skills. Must be able to execute and accomplish immediate deliverables on short notice. Must be highly organized, responsive and be able to handle multiple deliverables at the same time. Must be a great teammate that cares deeply about the overall success of UWM. Education and Experience: Associates degree in a business-related field or equivalent from two-year college or technical school 2-4 years of related experience Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Ability to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
