Job description

Occupational Health Practice Manager

Some leadership opportunities are designed to maintain operations.

This one is designed to build something even better.

A highly respected healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Occupational Health & Employer Services Practice Manager to lead a growing employer health practice that serves both the community and regional business partners.

This is an opportunity for a leader who enjoys developing people, strengthening employer relationships, improving operational performance, and helping organizations create healthier, safer workforces.

You'll work alongside engaged executive leadership with the autonomy to influence strategy, elevate service delivery, expand employer partnerships, and help shape the future of occupational health services.

What You'll Lead

You'll oversee the day-to-day operations of Occupational Health and Employer Direct Care services while serving as the operational leader for a multidisciplinary team.

Success in this role means:

  • Building trusted relationships with employer clients and community partners
  • Leading and developing a high-performing team
  • Creating efficient, patient-centered operational workflows
  • Driving service excellence and exceptional client experiences
  • Identifying opportunities for growth and program expansion
  • Monitoring quality, financial, and operational performance
  • Partnering with physicians and executive leadership to continuously improve services
  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, BWC, and occupational health standard

This is a visible leadership role where relationship-building is just as important as operational excellence.

Who Will Thrive Here

We're looking for someone who naturally builds trust, develops people, and enjoys solving operational challenges.

The ideal leader brings:

✔ Occupational Health or Employer Health leadership experience

✔ Practice management or ambulatory operations leadership

✔ Strong client relationship and business development skills

✔ Experience improving workflows and operational performance

✔ Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, BWC, and regulatory compliance

✔ A collaborative leadership style that earns credibility across physicians, employers, and executive leaders

Qualifications

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor's preferred
  • Four or more years of progressive leadership experience in Occupational Health, Employer Health Services, Ambulatory Operations, Practice Management, or related healthcare operations
  • Experience leading teams, improving operational performance, and delivering outstanding customer service
  • Experience with Epic, Systoc or similar healthcare information systems preferred
  • OSHA, DOT, BWC and regulatory compliance knowledge and understanding.

Why This Opportunity?

This organization is deeply committed to the communities it serves—allowing leaders to make decisions based on what's best for patients, employees, and local employers.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead a well-established and growing employer health program
  • Build meaningful partnerships with regional employers
  • Develop and mentor an engaged team
  • Influence operational strategy and future growth
  • Join a collaborative leadership culture where your ideas are welcomed and your impact is visible

If you're looking for a leadership opportunity where relationships matter, operational excellence is valued, and your work directly improves the health of local businesses and their employees, I'd welcome a confidential conversation.  Contact Sue@THI-search.com for immediate reply.

All inquiries will be handled with complete confidentiality.
