POSITION OVERVIEW
The Benefits Manager supports the benefits administration, Benefit Resource Center, communications and project oversight of all employee benefit plans. Leads by example providing excellence in customer service to the employees and leaders of the organization.
  • Trains Benefit Team members, Benefit Resource Center members, vendors and new carriers.
  • Advises employees on benefit related-issues, such as medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D, flexible spending accounts, disability plans, retirement, EAP, COBRA, time away from work programs and other benefit offerings.
  • Resolves employee benefit, enrollment, and eligibility issues; responds to concerns within benefit plan guidelines.
  • Manages vendor and carrier relationships, including performance, reporting, invoicing, billing and issue resolution.
  • Collaborates with the AVP-Benefits on continuous process improvement and establishing standard operating procedures for the department.
  • Develops and manages employee communications, training, onboarding, presentations, and educational initiatives related to benefit programs.
  • Maintains data integrity, creates reports and analyzes data; works with HRIS to create or revise department reports in order to perform day-to-day administration of benefits.
  • Prepares and develops benefits information, statistical reports, audits and census data for insurance carriers and management.
  • Collaborates with Employee Services, HRIS, Recruitment and Payroll to implement and improve processes and resolve benefit processing issues in UKG.
  • Ensures weekly eligibility interface files are sent to appropriate carriers with changes, new enrollments, separations, etc. and partners with HRIS on updates and issue resolution.
  • Corresponds with and tracks individuals' insurance premium payments during unpaid LOA (i.e. FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation, Personal and Military).
  • Conducts testing and implementation activities for UKG/PlanSource Benefit Administration Module upgrades, system enhancements, etc.
  • Develops and manages the annual open enrollment process including project planning, communications, vendor coordination, rate confirmation, coverage changes, and enrollment administration.
  • Manage 401(k) plan, audit and 5500 filing.
  • Ensures regulatory and administrative compliance with federal and state regulations, including but not limited to, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, GINA, COBRA, USERRA and ACA.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Travel: Yes: Minimally, as required (Typically less than 10%)

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree
  • 3-5 years of experience

Licenses and Certifications
  • Certified CBP, CEBS, SHRM or HRCI preferred
