Job description

We are looking to welcome a motivated individual onto our team as the manager of technical publications. This position is responsible for maintaining control of the Seaborne manual system.

POSITION SUMMARY


The Technical Publications Manager is responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining technical manuals, policies, procedures and operational documentation that support airline operations and regulatory compliance. This role works closely with Flight Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Training to ensure all technical publications are accurate, current, and compliant with FAA and company requirements. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in technical writing within the aviation industry and is highly proficient in Adobe FrameMaker for developing structured and unstructured technical documentation.


KEY REPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, revise, and maintain technical manuals and operational documents.
  • Utilize Adobe FrameMaker to create, format, edit, publish, and manage technical documentation.
  • Convert complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly content.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts to gather, verify, and validate technical information.
  • Ensure all publications comply with FAA regulations, company standards, and document control procedures.
  • Manage publication revision cycles and maintain revision histories.
  • Prepare documentation for electronic distribution and controlled document systems.
  • Perform technical reviews, proofreading, and quality checks to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews by providing required documentation.
  • Maintain publication templates, style guides, and formatting standards.
  • Assist in implementing and improving technical publication processes and document management systems.
  • Relevant to managing interfaces among maintenance, operations, and technical publication manuals.
  • Knowledge of FAA Regulations to ensure effective integration among maintenance, operational and airworthiness documentations.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical Writing, Aviation Management, English or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of technical writing experience, preferably within the aviation or airlines industry.
  • Advance proficiency with Adobe FrameMaker.
  • Experience developing and maintaining controlled technical documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of document management and version control practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

  • Experience with FAA regulated air carrier operations under Part 121
  • Knowledge of aviation safety and regulatory requirements.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Ability to review detailed technical documents for extended periods.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
