THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Global Product Leader to drive the strategy, growth, and innovation of the AlinIQ Analyzer Management System (AMS) portfolio. This highly visible leadership role will define the future of laboratory workflow automation by connecting analyzers, automation systems, laboratory information systems (LIS), and enterprise healthcare platforms into a seamless digital ecosystem. As the global owner of the AMS product portfolio, you will lead the evolution of a market-leading laboratory operations platform that helps laboratories improve productivity, optimize workforce utilization, enhance quality, and accelerate clinical decision-making.

You will collaborate with executive leadership, commercial teams, R&D, customers, and strategic partners worldwide to deliver innovative solutions that transform laboratory operations and enable the next generation of intelligent, connected diagnostics.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON:

Product Vision, Strategy & Portfolio Leadership

  • Define and execute the global product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for the AlinIQ AMS portfolio.
  • Drive the evolution of AMS as a core component of Abbott's broader digital health and laboratory informatics ecosystem.
  • Identify emerging industry trends in laboratory automation, digital pathology, artificial intelligence, interoperability, and healthcare informatics.
  • Develop and prioritize strategic investments that maximize customer value, competitive differentiation, market growth, and financial performance.
  • Lead portfolio lifecycle management, including new product introductions, platform expansions, enhancements, and end-of-life planning.
  • Evaluate strategic partnerships, technology integrations, and ecosystem opportunities that strengthen market position and accelerate growth.

Product Innovation & Development

  • Partner with global R&D, software engineering, regulatory, quality, operations, and commercial organizations to deliver high-impact products and enhancements.
  • Translate customer needs, market insights, and business objectives into actionable product requirements and prioritized development roadmaps.
  • Champion modern product management practices, including outcome-based roadmaps, agile methodologies, user-centered design, and continuous customer feedback.
  • Drive innovation initiatives focused on workflow optimization, automation, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and decision support.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators, adoption metrics, and customer outcomes to continuously improve product performance.

Customer & Market Leadership

  • Serve as the voice of the customer and trusted industry expert across laboratory informatics and workflow automation.
  • Build relationships with laboratory leaders, pathologists, health system executives, reference laboratories, and strategic partners globally.
  • Leads partnership with marketing to drive strategic customer advisory boards, market research initiatives, and competitive assessments.
  • Validate future solutions through direct engagement with customers and key opinion leaders.
  • Represent Abbott at industry forums, conferences, and customer engagements to strengthen thought leadership and market presence.

Platform Ecosystem & Interoperability Leadership

  • Drive the vision and strategy for a connected laboratory ecosystem that seamlessly integrates analyzers, automation systems, LIS, middleware, EMRs/EHRs, and third-party healthcare applications.
  • Lead interoperability strategies leveraging industry standards, including HL7, FHIR, IHE, and other healthcare integration frameworks.
  • Advance intelligent laboratory automation through rules-based decisioning, AI-enabled workflows, predictive analytics, and operational insights.
  • Collaborate with internal and external technology partners to deliver scalable, secure, cloud-enabled solutions that improve laboratory efficiency and clinical outcomes.

Business & Financial Management

  • Own portfolio business performance, growth strategy, market expansion opportunities, and investment planning.
  • Develop business cases, financial models, revenue forecasts, and product performance metrics.
  • Monitor market share, adoption, customer retention, profitability, and return on investment.
  • Present strategic recommendations, investment cases, and product performance updates to executive leadership.
  • Influence annual strategic planning and long-term portfolio investment decisions.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Inspire a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and customer obsession.
  • Lead and influence cross-functional global teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Mentor product managers and emerging leaders while strengthening organizational product management capabilities.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on execution excellence, continuous improvement, and measurable business outcomes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of product management, product strategy, or portfolio management experience.
  • Proven success leading global software, healthcare IT, diagnostics, laboratory informatics, or digital health product portfolios.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and lead complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience developing business cases, growth strategies, and investment plans.
  • Experience launching and scaling enterprise software or healthcare technology solutions globally.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD, or equivalent).
  • Experience in laboratory diagnostics, healthcare informatics, middleware, LIS, or enterprise healthcare systems.
  • Expertise in SaaS platforms, cloud technologies, digital ecosystems, and platform product management.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML-enabled healthcare solutions and workflow automation technologies.
  • Experience working with global regulatory environments and healthcare interoperability standards.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data integration, analytics, and cybersecurity principles.
  • End-to-end laboratory workflows including specimen tracking, test ordering, workflow orchestration, technical validation, clinical validation, quality management, reporting, and operational analytics.
  • Laboratory automation solutions, intelligent rules engines, workflow optimization, and AI-driven decision support.
  • Technical and semantic interoperability among analyzers, automation systems, laboratory information systems (LIS), middleware, electronic health records (EHR/EMR), and enterprise healthcare platforms.
  • Healthcare integration standards including HL7, FHIR, IHE, and API-based architectures.
