Job description

The Division of Biomedical Informatics (BMI) at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC), the top-ranked pediatric hospital in US News and World Report, and the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine are seeking an outstanding faculty candidate to join our vibrant research community. This position is open at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We encourage candidates with a strong background and experience in theoretical, algorithmic, or applied research in biomedical informatics. Candidates should demonstrate a strong scholarly record of research, supported by high-impact peer-reviewed publications and a forward-looking research agenda. The ideal candidate will strengthen or complement the division's research by applying creative, innovative approaches and technologies to address fundamental questions in the field.* Clinical and health informatics* Computational biology, systems biology, and bioinformatics* Methodology for data science, data management, and data infrastructure* Personalized and precision medicine* AI/ML approaches in biomedical informatics**Scholarly Activity: -** Participates in scholarly activities. Responsible for initiating, soliciting, and coordinating new well-designed research projects that have potential for external funding. Present experimental results at scientific meetings. Applies advanced training in research methods to design and conduct clinical research on various areas of clinical specialty. Collaborate and write major grant proposals that will result in substantial extramural support. Seek and receive sustained and substantial support from local, regional and/or national sources such as the NIH and NSF either as principal investigator or as a co-investigator. Participate in collaborative research projects through interactions with researchers as well as individuals from other divisions/departments. Publish results of your research via independent and collaborative writings. Propose research and manage the development, implementation and assessment of long and short term goals and objectives. Maintain Quality Control programs; ensure that Quality Control Checks are conducted and records are maintained on each procedure. Define and review performance criteria for quality control, proficiency testing and reporting of test results.
