Job description

The Strength & Conditioning Coach is an energetic and forward-thinking professional who plays a key role in researching, developing, and implementing a progressive health and performance training framework for athletes and adults. They bring an understanding of people, culture and high-performance strategy development and delivery. An avid learner, they are current in their knowledge of research, technologies, best practices, and execution strategies and find comfort in the high-performance environment. Sessions will take place at the HPS Training Club in Frederick, MD with facility equipment and resources.

Who You Are:

  • An innovative and reflective thinker who holds a degree in the field of human performance
  • You maintain current CSCS and/or CSCCA, CPR & First Aid certifications and any appropriate additional licensure
  • You are a great teammate, possessing an exceptional work ethic and attention to detail
  • You have 1+ years of proven experience working with athletes in the collegiate or pro sports environments developing and implementing movement-based athlete development systems
  • You are a strong communicator who can thrive in a team-centric, high-performance environment

What You Will Do:

  • Align people, processes, and protocols with the HPS team’s vision, values, and objectives
  • Develop and implement individualized athlete and adult preparation and recovery plans
  • Ensure all members receive individualized programming and coaching to drive progress
  • Identify and define areas of improvement in existing operations and generating solutions and problem-solving pathways
  • Building, maintaining, and fostering effective relationships with each member's key internal and external stakeholders
  • Communicate and uphold standards of excellence across the organization, ensuring behaviors align with the HPS team’s vision, values, and objectives
  • Implement regular education in key areas (training, nutrition, sleep, recovery, etc.) as needed
  • Ensure all programming and testing records are organized, maintained, and updated promptly, and ensure standardized reports are aligned for sharing progress reports with key stakeholders
  • Assist with special projects and special reports as assigned
  • Demonstrate a passion for pushing the envelope
