Hutchinson Public Schools is seeking a Title/ADSIS Education Assistant at the Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year and beyond.
The Title/ADSIS Education Assistant will provide support, explanation, re-teaching, and instructional help for students in reading. This position will work 165 days per year, 6 hours per day from 8:00am - 2:30pm. The salary range for this position is $18.27 to $20.77 per hour. Salary placement is dependent upon education and experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain confidentiality standards by adhering to the district's data privacy policy
  • Help to reinforce the teachings of the classroom teacher by working with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
  • Conferring and planning with teachers to recommend ideas, identify problems, and aid in problem-solving
  • Help students strengthen their skills to become more independent
  • Help the classroom teacher with recordkeeping of the student's progress. Conducts informal assessments to measure students' mastery of learned materials as directed by the classroom teacher
  • Attend meetings and in-service for staff development. Follow suggestions made by classroom teachers, the principal, and others who may provide staff development

Required Qualifications (one of the following):
Candidates interested in the position but who do not meet the required qualifications below are still encouraged to apply, as the district is committed to helping them attain the necessary credentials.
  • Associates Degree
  • 60 semester college credits
  • Passing score on one of the state-approved tests (ParaEducator or ParaPro)
  • Competency Grid (can be completed upon hire)
