A Day in the LifeAs a Senior Market Access Analytics Specialist, you will be a member of the Corporate Global Health Economics, Policy, and Reimbursement team. The HEPR function works to ensure patients have timely and equitable access to Medtronic innovations by shaping healthcare policy, securing reimbursement, and demonstrating the value of Medtronic products and therapies.
In this role, you will support the development and execution of market access analytics using healthcare data assets, with a particular focus on healthcare - hospital and payer - price transparency data and administrative claims data. You will conduct analyses and produce tools and reports that help internal stakeholders understand reimbursement, payment variation, site-of-care economics, payer and provider trends, and the financial implications of market access strategies. This role will require strong technical skills, including SQL programming and data management, knowledge of U.S. healthcare financing, including procedure code systems and the institutional context of reimbursement, and the ability to translate complex data into clear insights for the HEPR organization its functional partners like marketing and strategy.

The Senior Market Access Analytics Specialist, will support Corporate HEPR, operating units, and regional HEPR teams by developing data-driven insights that inform reimbursement strategy, economic value messaging, payer and provider dynamics, and market access decision-making. The role will focus on practical, high-quality analytics using large and complex data sources, including hospital and payer price transparency files, commercial claims, Medicare claims data, and other HEOR data assets.

This position is intended to be a hands-on analytical role. The individual will work with senior HEOR and market access leaders to define business questions, develop analytic specifications, write and validate SQL code, summarize results, and create clear outputs for cross-functional stakeholders. The role will also support scalable analytic tools, dashboards, data documentation, and repeatable analytic processes that increase the efficiency and impact of market access analytics across the enterprise.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Conduct analytics using large healthcare datasets, including healthcare price transparency data, commercial claims, Medicare claims data, and other licensed or public data assets.

  • Use SQL and other analytic tools to query and summarize large healthcare data files to be used for evaluating reimbursement variation across procedures, devices, payers, providers, markets, and sites of care.

  • Develop analytic datasets and reproducible code to support analyses of payer and provider reimbursement, payer mix, procedure-level economics, and market dynamics.

  • Work with HEPR, pricing, marketing, strategy, and operating unit partners to clarify business questions and translate them into feasible analytic approaches.

  • Assist in developing dashboards, summary reports, tables, figures, and other analytic outputs that communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Support development of market access tools and repeatable analytic workflows that can be scaled across operating units and priority business needs.

  • Maintain documentation of data sources, analytic methods, code logic, assumptions, definitions, and limitations to support transparency, reproducibility, and appropriate data governance.

  • Assist with data quality checks, analysis validation, and peer review to ensure analytic outputs are accurate and consistent.

Must Have - Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 4 years of healthcare analytics experience or 2 years with an advanced degree.

Nice to Have

  • Degree specialization in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Health Informatics, Epidemiology or a related quantitative field.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess data quality, identify limitations, and communicate uncertainty appropriately.

  • Ability to summarize complex quantitative findings into concise, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment.

  • Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, organizational skills, and commitment to analytic rigor.

  • Experience using a cloud hosted analytic environment.

  • Experience with statistical analysis software or packages in SAS, R, Python, Stata,

  • Experience using Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools.

  • Experience developing reusable code libraries, analytic templates, dashboards, or scalable reporting workflows.

  • Experience analyzing variations in healthcare spending or utilization, or analysis of provider and payer market dynamics.

  • Experience supporting HEOR, market access, pricing, business development, or commercial strategy teams.
