Their duties often include taking vital signs, preparing examination rooms, assisting with basic medical procedures, and helping patients with daily activities. Health Assistants work in a variety of settings such as hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities. They play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of healthcare environments and improving patient comfort and safety.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a health assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Health Assistant, you need a solid understanding of basic patient care, first aid, and medical terminology, often supported by a high school diploma or a certified nursing assistant (CNA) credential. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, vital sign monitoring devices, and basic medical equipment is typically required.
