This is primarily an office-based safety administration and coordination role, with some field involvement to support the HSE Manager, supervisors and project teams.

The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining organized and audit-ready safety systems, supporting COR requirements, coordinating project-specific safety documentation and helping ensure BAAC's health and safety program continues to evolve alongside the company's operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized, audit-ready safety records and supporting documentation
  • Review safety documentation for completeness, quality and compliance
  • Assist with updating policies, procedures, Safe Work Practices and Safe Operating Procedures
  • Track corrective actions, training requirements, inspections and compliance items

  • Conduct periodic site visits and inspections in support of the HSE Manager
  • Assist with field verification of FLRAs, JHAs, hazard controls and safety documentation
  • Support supervisors and workers in understanding company safety requirements

  • Help identify safety trends, documentation gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Communicate with client safety contacts to coordinate pre-job planning, Emergency Response Plans, JHAs and project-specific site safety plans

Qualifications

  • Experience with COR, safety program administration or audit preparation
  • NHSA or similar safety administration designation would be considered an asset
  • Strong organizational, documentation and communication skills
  • Principles of Health & Safety Management (PHSM)
  • Leadership for Safety Excellence (LSE)
  • Alberta OHS Legislation Awareness (LEG)
  • Auditor Training Program (ATP)
  • Comfortable working with both office and field personnel
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Valid driver's licence and ability to travel periodically to project locations

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive and detail-oriented, with strong administrative skills and the ability to support both the HSE Manager and field operations.

This position is well suited to someone who enjoys the systems, auditing and coordination side of safety while still maintaining periodic involvement with employees in the field. The successful candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of documentation, following through on compliance requirements and contributing to the continued development of BAAC's safety culture as the company grows.
