Industry UsageUsed broadly for holistic healing facilitiesPrimarily in spa and wellness industries

The Healing Place often refers to a holistic or alternative healing facility that may employ various therapies, including massage, energy work, or spiritual healing. A Massage Therapist specifically provides therapeutic massage services, usually requiring licensure and working mainly in spas or wellness centers. While both roles focus on health and wellness, the Healing Place offers a broader range of healing modalities, whereas Massage Therapists specialize in massage techniques.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a substance abuse counselor at a Healing Place facility?

To thrive as a Substance Abuse Counselor, you need a background in counseling, psychology, or social work, often supported by relevant degrees and state licensure. Familiarity with treatment planning software, electronic health records, and evidence-based therapy methods is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, active listening, and resilience help build trust with clients and facilitate recovery. These competencies are crucial for guiding individuals through addiction recovery and ensuring effective, compassionate care within a Healing Place environment.

What are some of the common challenges faced by staff working at a Healing Place or center, and how can these be managed?

Staff at healing centers often encounter emotionally charged situations as they support clients through recovery, trauma, or significant life changes. Managing compassion fatigue and maintaining professional boundaries can be challenging, especially when working with individuals in crisis. To address these challenges, many healing places provide regular supervision, peer support groups, and ongoing professional development focused on self-care and resilience. Open communication within multidisciplinary teams also helps staff share insights and manage difficult cases collaboratively, fostering a supportive work environment.

What is a Healing Place?

A Healing Place typically refers to a center or facility dedicated to providing support, recovery, and rehabilitation services for individuals facing challenges such as addiction, homelessness, or trauma. These centers often offer a combination of shelter, counseling, medical care, and educational programs to help clients restore their health and well-being. The goal of a Healing Place is to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can work toward personal growth and lasting recovery.

Job description

Licensed Massage Therapist - Serasana Holly Springs
Voted Best Massage & Best Day Spa in Holly Springs
Who We Are
Serasana means "To Be Healthy" and that's not just a tagline, it's the heartbeat of everything we do. We're a welcoming wellness community in Holly Springs Crossing built around ancient healing practices and a genuine belief that feeling well should be a way of life. Our clients come to us for massage, acupuncture, yoga, cupping, reiki, skincare, and healing teas, and they keep coming back because of the people who care for them.
Our space reflects that warmth: eight serene treatment rooms, a beautiful yoga studio, a cozy tea bar, and a retail selection of local gifts chosen with our clients' journeys in mind. We've been voted Best Massage and Best Day Spa in Holly Springs, and we're proud of that. What we're most proud of is the team that made it possible.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a heart-centered Licensed Massage Therapist to join our Holly Springs team. Shifts are flexible and available throughout the week, including Saturdays, so you can build a schedule that works for your life.
You can earn up to $67 per 50-minute session, including gratuities, doing work you love in a place that supports you.
What Your Days Will Look Like
  • Delivering thoughtful, personalized massage therapy to scheduled clients and walk-ins (sessions range from 25 to 100 minutes)
  • Getting to know your clients, their goals, their history, and what they need that day
  • Completing SOAP notes and session details in our client software
  • Sending each client off with a personalized Wellness Prescription
  • Sharing Serasana's full world of offerings, including yoga, acupuncture, tea, and more, so clients can get the most out of their wellness journey
  • Showing up for your teammates and contributing to a space where healing actually happens

What We're Looking For
  • An active North Carolina Massage Therapy License
  • A warm, genuine approach to client care
  • Someone who sees massage as more than a service; it's a relationship
  • Experience with cupping is a bonus, but not a must. We'll happily train you.

What We Offer
We believe the people who care for our clients deserve to be cared for too. Here's what comes with the role:
  • Flexible scheduling built around your availability, with shifts throughout the week including Saturdays
  • Free unlimited yoga in our beautiful studio, with a regular weekly schedule to fit your routine
  • 50% off massage, acupuncture, and skincare services, so you can experience the same care you provide
  • 50% off all workshops and continuing education events
  • 20% off retail products
  • Continuing education reimbursement of up to $50 per year for eligible employees
  • Discounted liability insurance to help protect your practice

A Few Practical Things
  • Comfortable with frequent movement and bending throughout your shift
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and assist clients with mobility needs
  • Committed to a tobacco-free lifestyle
  • Must arrive to work unimpaired and ready to care for others

Come Heal With Us
If you're a therapist who pours real intention into your work and wants to be part of something meaningful, we'd love to get to know you.
