Job description

About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Treasury Analyst – Global Cash, Liquidity & Treasury Operations to help scale and modernize Rivian’s global treasury function. This role serves as a core operational anchor across daily cash positioning, global banking infrastructure, regulatory compliance, and process automation.

Reporting to the Head of Global Cash, Liquidity & Treasury Operations, you will own daily cash and banking workflows while driving process rigor, system enhancements (TMS/SAP), and data automation. You will act as a key connector across Tax, Accounting, Legal, IT, and international business teams to build a seamless, scalable treasury operating model as Rivian expands globally.

Why This Role Matters

  • Elevate Treasury Leadership Capacity: Provide experienced operational oversight across bank administration, liquidity and daily execution, enabling treasury leadership to focus on long-term strategy.
  • Scale Global Liquidity Infrastructure: Optimize cash positioning, pooling, and intercompany funding structures to support growth, scaling, and international expansion.
  • Modernize Treasury Operations: Drive operational rigor and continuous process improvement across treasury workflows by partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to build scalable, standardized systems.
  • Enable Data-Driven Treasury: Introduce advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and AI tools into cash forecasting and reporting to improve real-time decision-making.
  • Strengthen Global Banking Infrastructure: Optimize bank relationships, account structures, and banking portal integrations to support scalability and reduce operational friction.

Responsibilities

Global Cash Management & Daily Operations

  • Cash Forecasting & Positioning: Lead operational cash forecasting and daily global cash positioning, partnering with FP&A, Accounting, Tax, and business stakeholders to monitor working capital drivers, optimize inputs, and track variance.
  • Payment Execution: Execute and authorize high-value operational payments, intercompany funding settlements, and cross-border transfers while maintaining strict payment control standards.
  • Global Liquidity Structures: Optimize and manage global liquidity structures, including cash pooling, Zero-Balance Accounts (ZBAs), and intercompany netting across US and international entities.
  • DOE Funding & Draw Support: Provide oversight and operational management of DOE (Department of Energy) account structures and coordinate draw support requirements.

Global Banking Infrastructure & Bank Administration

  • Bank Portal Administration: Serve as primary administrator for global online banking portals, managing user access, entitlement reviews, platform configurations, and security protocols.
  • Account Governance: Manage global bank account governance, leading bank account openings/closures, authorized signatory updates, and complex KYC/AML documentation across banking partners.
  • Operational Support: Troubleshoot and resolve operational banking issues, serving as the primary point of contact for bank escalations, payment failures, and account discrepancies.

Regulatory, Controls & Compliance

  • Controls & Compliance Governance: Ensure strict adherence to treasury SOX controls, payment policies, and internal audit requirements across all daily operating workflows.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Lead regulatory reporting support, gathering required documentation for annual FBAR (Foreign Bank Account Reporting), FATCA compliance, and regional banking requirements.
  • SOP Management: Maintain and standardize Treasury SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to ensure operational continuity, control enforcement, and audit readiness.

Digital Transformation, AI & Systems

  • Process Automation: Identify and implement process automation opportunities across daily forecasting, payment processing, and cash reporting to eliminate manual workflows.
  • Systems Integration: Partner with IT and vendor teams to support Treasury Management System (TMS) enhancements, SAP ERP integration, and automated bank data feeds.
  • Advanced Analytics: Leverage advanced analytics and predictive tools (including AI/machine learning capabilities) to build dynamic, real-time cash forecasting models and other reporting.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Professional Experience: 5–7 years of hands-on corporate treasury operations experience in a multi-entity, global environment.
  • Global Banking Knowledge: Strong understanding of global banking structures, including account architecture and system integrations.
  • Process Improvement: Proven track record driving process improvement, automation, and operational standardization.
  • Systems Proficiency: Hands-on familiarity with Treasury Management Systems (TMS) and enterprise ERP platforms (SAP preferred).
  • Analytical Capability: Strong analytical, systems-thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Certification: CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) designation a plus.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in high-growth, capital-intensive, global industries (e.g., automotive, manufacturing, technology).
  • Systems Implementation: Experience implementing or enhancing TMS platforms and bank connectivity solutions.
  • Technical Literacy: Familiarity with AI/ML applications in finance, forecasting, or operational analytics.
  • Structural Experience: Experience building or scaling in-house banking structures or global treasury centers.
