Server, Fine DiningPart Time

Bishop Gadsden is a not-for-profit, faith-based retirement community, affiliated with the Episcopal Church. Bishop Gadsden is known as the Southeast's leading life care retirement community. We are located on James Island, just 10 minutes from downtown Charleston!


We are seeking experienced part-time evening Fine Dining Servers to provide exceptional full tableside service to our resident customers and their guests in our fine dining restaurant, Winningham Court!


A Typical Day:

  • Offer full tableside service to residents including accurate order taking, meal delivery, and check handling
  • Prepare and serve beverages as requested by residents and guests - this is to include table service of all alcoholic beverages
  • Responsible for all table maintenance throughout the meal
  • Clear and reset all tables according to set standards and procedures after completion of each meal
  • Perform all duties assigned in an effective, timely and professional manner
  • Adhere to attendance and scheduling requirements
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct exhibiting a respectful and courteous demeanor at all times

Requirements

What We Need In A Candidate:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior restaurant server experience required
  • Prior working experience and/or interacting with an elderly population preferredAt least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Professional appearance and excellent interpersonal skills for daily interaction with residents, families, coworkers, and public
  • Ability to read, write, speak and communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written in English
  • Ability to Ability to comprehend numbers, calculate and perform data input of service charges and head counts
  • Ability to multi-task and deal with multiple customers at the same time
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, squat, climb, reach above head, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs.
