Job Description
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 5pm-3:30am
Pay Rate: $20.50/hour plus $1.25/hour shift differential
Responsibilities
  • Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand or other equipment.
  • Sort cargo before loading and unloading.
  • Stack cargo in locations such as transit sheds or in holds of trucks as directed, using pallets or cargo boards.
  • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
  • Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
  • Follow a range of mandatory procedures and methods of work (including use of personal protection equipment where relevant) to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others.
  • Able to identify incoming quality issues and notify correct parties for resolution.
  • Able to perform accurate system transactions with a hand-held scanner or at computer terminal with a 100% accuracy.
  • Able to read and interpret extrusion labels.
  • Able to identify extrusions, glass and other materials that are in their assigned areas.
  • Safely loads and unloads extrusion racks with an overhead crane and performs necessary system transactions accurately.

Experience
  • Forklift operator (MUST HAVE 2+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE)
  • Material handling and/or Warehouse experience preferred

Constant standing up to 10-12 hours a day or sitting up to 10-12 hours a day while operating forklift. Frequent
bending/stooping/squatting/walking. Frequent reaching overhead when handling material. Frequent reaching/pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds. Frequent pushing with minimal or maximum force to maneuver the material. Frequent carrying and lifting up to 90 lbs. Frequent repetitive hand/foot/head/neck movements required. Temperatures will vary. Dusty and noisy environment when operating machines and tools. Steel toe safety shoes, ear and eye protection required.
