General Manager / Head of Operations, Sales & Service

Bishop & Company is partnering with a well-established equipment organization to find a dynamic leader to oversee statewide operations in sales, rentals, service, and parts.
This role is a unique opportunity to lead multi-island operations, strengthen customer relationships, develop high-performing teams, and drive strategic growth that supports Hawaii’s essential industries —construction, agriculture, and beyond.

About the Role
As General Manager / Head of Operations, you will:

  • Inspire and lead teams across multiple locations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and communities

  • Drive operational efficiency, financial performance, and strategic growth

  • Represent the company at industry and community initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic business plans to achieve revenue and profitability goals

  • Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and customer service

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction

  • Manage financial performance, budgeting, and capital investments

  • Strengthen partnerships with contractors, agricultural businesses, public agencies, OEMs, and suppliers

  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, promoting collaboration and innovation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field (MBA preferred) or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years senior leadership experience in equipment dealerships, distribution, large equipment rentals or related industries

  • 5+ years direct retail sales experience

  • Proven success managing multi-branch or multi-island operations

  • Strong financial management, strategic planning, and team development skills

  • Knowledge of heavy equipment, agricultural machinery, and Hawaii’s business environment highly preferred

Compensation
Compensation and title are determined individually based on experience and qualifications. Expected starting salary range: $160,000–$180,000, with flexibility based on expertise and leadership scope.
