HOW A SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

As a Software Development Manager, the work you'll do at GDIT will directly support our customers' mission by delivering intuitive, secure, and scalable web applications that improve the user experience for mission-critical systems. You will lead a team of front-end developers responsible for building modern, responsive applications that enable users to efficiently accomplish their objectives.

Lead a team of front-end software engineers in the design, development, and delivery of modern web applications, ensuring high-quality, accessible, and maintainable solutions that support mission success.

Collaborate with UX/UI designers, product owners, back-end engineers, DevSecOps teams, architects, and customer stakeholders to translate business requirements into engaging, user-centered applications.

Drive front-end engineering best practices through code reviews, technical mentorship, Agile delivery, component reuse, performance optimization, and continuous improvement while fostering innovation and technical excellence across the team.

Utilize modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, RESTful APIs, Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and Agile development methodologies to deliver scalable and secure applications.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Software Development Manager must have:

Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science

Experience: 7+ years of related experience leading software development teams and delivering enterprise web applications

Technical skills: Experience with React, Angular, or Vue.js; JavaScript/TypeScript; HTML5/CSS3; responsive web design; REST APIs; Git; CI/CD; automated testing (Jest, Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium); Agile methodologies; application optimization and software development leadership.

Security clearance level: Secret (or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance)

US citizenship required

Strong communication and mentoring skills; ability to balance technical leadership with people management; experience delivering secure enterprise web applications.

Location: Customer Site (Tampa, FL).

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $112,840 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
