Position Scope

We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our finance team in a dynamic and globally focused environment. This role will support tax compliance, tax accounting and tax planning initiatives across multiple jurisdictions with the main focus on Canadian tax matters. The ideal candidate will have strong technical tax expertise, experience working in multinational environments, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The Tax Manager will be a key contributor responsible for many different types of tax matters in this growing company and report into the Tax Director.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing

  • Oversee preparation and filing of Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns and other information returns.
  • Manage Canadian, International and consolidated quarterly and annual tax accounting provisions under US GAAP.
  • Manage international tax compliance, transfer pricing documentation and intercompany transactions reporting.
  • Prepare responses to Canadian federal, provincial, indirect and state tax audits.
  • Provide tax support and guidance to internal stakeholders while assisting with income tax projects and related research initiatives.
  • Manage indirect tax compliance for various jurisdictions.
Qualifications

What Makes You the ONE

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Business or Finance preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive tax experience.
  • Accounting designation (CPA) in progress or completed preferred. 
  • Completed or enrolled in CPA In-Depth Tax and willingness to complete the program.
  • Experience in public accounting or multinational corporate tax department is an asset.
  • Experience with income tax returns for Canadian corporations and partnerships is required.Working understanding of indirect taxes, sufficient to provide enterprise oversight across risk management, governance, compliance frameworks, and audit processes
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Highly detail oriented.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with tax and accounting software as well as Excel.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employee and management to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
