Job description

As a Compliance Risk Management Director within the Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) organization, you will lead the design and execution of the Risk Management and Compliance (RM&C) framework for the Credit Card Services program. You will be responsible for leading second line of defense oversight of compliance and operational risks for the Chase Branded and Co-Branded Chase Card products. 

You will be part of a diverse team of CCOR professionals, fostering cross-functional collaboration and supporting the Chase Credit Card business. You will lead a team responsible for identifying and assessing new and emerging risks, applying sound judgment and delivering innovative, risk-based solutions to support the Firm and our customers. You will need to thrive in a complex environment, communicate with clarity, and execute with purpose. \

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide independent advice and oversight of compliance and operational risks for Chase Credit Card products and related processes. 
  • Lead collaboration with business and functional stakeholders, supporting compliance with relevant laws, regulations and policies, contributing to the continuous improvement of the CCOR program, while identifying efficiencies. 
  • Monitor regulatory and legislative changes, providing oversight and guidance for business implementation of new rules and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and assess new business initiatives for regulatory and operational risk implications, supporting innovative and compliant business outcomes.
  • Identify, escalate, and respond to emerging compliance and operational risks. 
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with Compliance, Operational Risk, Legal, Risk, Product, Payments, Audit, Finance, and Control Management teams, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Support business AI driven initiatives by providing evidence-based advice. Champion continuous adoption of the use of AI tools in CCOR to improve efficiency.
  • Lead a team of seasoned professionals, fostering an inclusive environment for employee growth and excellence.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 10+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, legal, or risk management roles within Credit Cards and/or financial services 

  • Expertise in Credit Card regulations, including without limitation Regulation Z (TILA), Regulation B (ECOA), FCRA, SCRA, MLA, UDAAP, GLBA, etc.

  • Expertise on credit card, inclusive of Co-brand partnerships, subscription products and payment processing networks. 

  • Awareness of evolving AI regulations and AI risk frameworks, with ability to translate them into practical governance, controls, and operating model requirements.

  • Proven ability to communicate complex regulatory issues clearly in writing and verbally to senior audiences. 

  • Ability to operate independently and lead cross-functional initiatives with limited oversight.

  • Track record of professional judgment in ambiguous or novel regulatory situations to resolve problems efficiently and pragmatically.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in law, finance, or related field.

  • Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and professional maturity in regulated environments.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Prior financial services experience in credit card preferred.

  • Experience as lead Compliance and/or Operational Risk Officer in Credit Card or experience serving in a designated compliance or control function leadership capacity.

  • Operational familiarity with compliance program testing and documentation processes and systems.
