We are seeking a Property Reverse Flow Team Leader to lead a team of Property Reverse Flow Underwriters while maintaining responsibility for a complex portfolio of multinational property business. This role combines advanced underwriting expertise, portfolio management, operational leadership, and people management to drive profitable growth, service excellence, and compliance with underwriting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Underwriting amp; Portfolio Management
  • Underwrite and manage a complex portfolio of Property Reverse Flow business within delegated authority.
  • Evaluate property risks, including COPE characteristics, catastrophe exposures, business interruption exposures, valuation adequacy, and coverage structures.
  • Review and approve quotes, renewals, endorsements, and referrals requiring advanced technical expertise.
  • Ensure pricing adequacy, profitable growth, and adherence to underwriting guidelines and authority levels.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, accumulation exposures, and risk concentrations within the assigned region.
  • Collaborate with Risk Engineering, Claims, Actuarial, Compliance, Finance, and Reinsurance teams.
Team Leadership amp; Talent Development
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to underwriting staff.
  • Conduct underwriting file reviews and quality assurance assessments.
  • Support onboarding, training, and professional development initiatives for team members.
  • Promote underwriting discipline and consistent decision-making across the team.
  • Assist management with performance discussions, workload balancing, and succession planning efforts.
  • Serve as a mentor and technical resource for Underwriters, Senior Underwriters, and Lead Underwriters.
  • Coach team members on leveraging AI technologies to enhance performance while maintaining appropriate professional judgment and oversight.
Operational amp; Service Leadership
  • Ensure the timely issuance of policies, endorsements, and contractual documentation.
  • Coordinate service delivery across brokers, insureds, producing offices, and internal stakeholders.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Monitor workflow management and service standards for the Property Reverse Flow team.
  • Resolve escalated service and underwriting issues.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate AI-enabled solutions into underwriting, reporting, service delivery, and operational processes.
Broker amp; Stakeholder Management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients.
  • Participate in broker meetings, stewardship discussions, and business development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with global producing offices to support multinational program execution.
  • Represent the Property Reverse Flow team in cross-functional and international meetings.
Governance amp; Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with underwriting authority, corporate guidelines, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and underwriting file quality standards.
  • Support internal audits and underwriting reviews.
  • Assist with implementing underwriting strategies and operational initiatives established by senior leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of commercial property underwriting experience; 10+ years preferred.
  • Significant experience with multinational and Reverse Flow property programs.
  • Strong knowledge of property risk analysis, including COPE characteristics, catastrophe exposures, business interruption exposures, valuation methodologies, and property coverage design.
  • Strong understanding of property policy wording, filed products, and manuscript forms.
  • Proven leadership, mentoring, coaching, or team management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex property accounts and portfolios while driving profitable growth.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship management, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with brokers, clients, global producing offices, and cross-functional business partners.
  • CPCU, ARM, ARe, or a comparable professional designation preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
Base salary range for this position is $155,000 – 170,000, plus eligibility for a performance-based annual bonus. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors including experience, education, and location.
