Job description

The Division of Medical Oncology at Duke University Medical Center and the Duke Cancer Institute are recruiting a board certified MD or MD/PhD Medical Oncologist with a committed interest and expertise in Head and Neck cancer, including thyroid malignancies.  Responsibilities include the clinical management of head and neck cancer patients, developing clinical or translational efforts, and educating and mentoring fellows and house staff.  This position offers academic rank, competitive salary, and start-up package commensurate with experience plus clinical and research incentives, annual funds for continuing education, and relocation funding.

The Duke Division of Medical Oncology is internationally recognized for its novel approaches to treating patients who present with all stages and subtypes of head and neck cancer.  Specialists in medicine, surgery, radiation therapy, radiology, pathology and palliative care who concentrate in the care of patients with head and neck cancer meet at least weekly to review difficult cases, debate new therapy plans, and formulate treatment algorithms.  Duke's clinicians and scientists work in close proximity, bringing patients the benefit of a true "bench-to-bedside" approach to care that offers promising new therapies quickly to those who need them most.  The result of these efforts is a program unsurpassed in our service region and unequaled in most parts of the country or the world.
