Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The Head of the Department is responsible for overseeing all daily operations within their assigned department. This includes ensuring shelves and displays are well-stocked, clean, and properly merchandised, while also supporting team development and delivering exceptional customer service. This position plays a key leadership role in maintaining quality standards, safety, and team efficiency in alignment with NetCost Market’s values and procedures.

• Maintain full stock levels, proper product rotation, and organized displays throughout the department
 • Ensure cleanliness and organization of department work areas, storage, and sales floor at all times
 • Train and develop new and current staff in all department procedures, customer service, and safety standards
 • Monitor product quality and expiration dates; remove or report any damaged or expired items
 • Receive and inspect incoming deliveries for accuracy, quality, and safety compliance
 • Maintain correct product labeling, pricing, and signage throughout the department
 • Provide friendly and helpful customer service; assist customers in locating products and answering questions
 • Oversee merchandising, including promotional and seasonal displays
 • Maintain proper use and condition of department equipment; report malfunctions as needed
 • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and store policy guidelines
 • Communicate effectively with store leadership regarding product needs, employee issues, and customer concerns
 • Ensure a safe working and shopping environment for employees and customers
 • Respond quickly and professionally to customer inquiries and concerns
 • Walk department regularly to monitor operations, cleanliness, and appearance
 • Support a positive work culture and team morale
 • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
 • Must be 18 years of age or older
 • Prior experience in retail or grocery preferred, especially in a supervisory role
 • Strong leadership and communication skills
 • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
 • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of organization and accountability
 • Team player with a passion for serving the community
