About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Learning and Development (Canada) for a 14-month contract. Reporting to the Head of People Strategy, you will lead the strategy and delivery of our local learning initiatives.

We are looking for a leader who embodies a vision-first approach, setting a clear North Star for the team while navigating end-to-end programs for early careers, experienced professionals, and leaders. You will champion our learning brand, forge external partnerships, and demonstrate transformative ownership by taking full accountability for the design and execution of world-class programs that grow our best talent.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement learning programs that anticipate future business outcomes, empowering employees to master current roles while architecting the skills necessary for sustainable growth.

  • Serve as a strategic partner to business leaders and HR to co-create innovative L&D solutions that look beyond immediate needs to solve long-term enterprise challenges.

  • Operationalize intuitive learning paths that foster a growth mindset, allowing employees across all job families to seamlessly navigate and own their career development.

  • Identify and scale transformative, digitized, and automated learning methods that create a world-class experience while building a robust, future-ready talent pipeline.

  • Provide the strategic foresight and operational support necessary to ensure the design and delivery of development programs remain agile and innovative across the enterprise.

  • Manage learning investments and third-party partnerships with an owner's mentality, ensuring budget and vendor performance are ruthlessly aligned with strategic goals.

  • Rigorously measure and communicate the impact and ROI of L&D initiatives to ensure every program delivers tangible, transformative value to the business.

  • Lead and inspire a team of learning professionals with a compelling vision that fosters high performance and alignment with the company's North Star.

  • Drive associate engagement from day one by creating transformative learning experiences that challenge individuals to reach their full potential faster than they thought possible.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Subject Matter expert:

    • Experienced leading a Learning function in a fast paced environment, (knowledge of technology/financial organizations preferred)

    • Proven track record building a learning and development strategy, ensuring training needs of the business are evaluated and appropriate development methods are selected based on relevant best practices and external trends.

  • Change agent:

    • Influential partner who leads with data informed solutions to obtain buy-in from multiple stakeholders to to influence the desired culture, behaviors and skills.

    • The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders across the organization

  • Strategic orientation with proven ability to set a vision, chart a path and execute with high impact

  • Proven and respected team leader:

    • Track record for coaching to high results

    • Excellent communicator across multiple level stakeholders (team, employees, managers, people leaders, executive team)

    • Leverages a strong customer orientation for building relationships across and within HR broadly, and in the lines of business

    • Has a strong bias for optimization and driving continuous improvement


Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, psychology, human resources or a related field is required.

  • Certificate in Adult Education or Organizational Development is preferable.

  • CTP/CTDP designation or equivalent is an asset.
