THE JOB

The Account Director is a client-focused leader and cross-functional collaborator, responsible for turning client needs into actionable plans. They serve as the link between clients, teams, and results — managing daily leadership of key accounts while mentoring others and driving business growth. They ensure delivery excellence through strategic planning, financial insight, and entrepreneurial thinking. Proactive by nature, they continually network and stay ahead of trends. This role involves monitoring client industry trends and technological advancements to enhance service offerings and agency capabilities.

AS A PERSON, YOU HAVE:
  • A deep understanding of digital product development. Experience and knowledge of Airtable preferred.

  • Exceptional financial acumen — especially as it relates to forecasting, project profitability, revenue recognition, and budget management.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and client relationship-building skills.

  • Fluency in scope planning, timeline development, and budget management.

  • Effective team manager, able to inspire, delegate, and communicate clear expectations.

  • Skilled in managing cross-functional collaboration and complex internal/external workflows.

  • Clear, confident presenter with a knack for making strategy actionable.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
  • Client Partnership 50%

    • Build and maintain high-trust relationships with senior client stakeholders and Airtable partner stakeholders.

    • Guide client conversations around value, growth, and long-term engagement.

    • Be responsible for growing account engagement, including direct ownership of revenue growth goals aligned with the Head of Accounts, as driven by annual team growth goals.

  • Business Management 15%

    • Pitch leadership, from uncovering new opportunities, executing pitch decks, and presenting.

    • Contribute to quarterly and annual business planning with internal teams.

    • Participate in  in agency-led business management monitoring and planning.

    • Manages a book of business: $500k-$3M+.

  • Project & Program Management 25%

    • Translate client needs into actionable briefs, scopes, and project plans.

    • Partner with senior cross-functional leaders to ensure the highest quality work, drive new opportunities, and pitch new ideas.

    • Partner with producers to ensure operational accuracy and delivery excellence.

    • Own and produces up to 2 workstreams when the owned portfolio is less than $1m.

  • People Management 10%

    • Support and guide producers working within owned accounts.

    • As team size allows, may manage Producers (from Jr. to Production Leads)

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 7+ years of experience in client services or account leadership.

  • 3-5+ years providing mentorship within a team or project context

  • Proven experience leading complex digital projects from discovery through delivery.

  • Experience in digital-first or integrated agency environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Travel may be up to 25-50% of this role.

  • Thesis operates on a hybrid work model, with in-office collaboration Tuesday through Thursday and remote work on Mondays and Fridays.
