Job description

JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Scribe is responsible for providing accurate documentation to patient charts at the physician's direction.
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Under the supervision of a Physician, Mid-Level Provider, and Practice Manager and/or Lead Medical Assistant:
  • Assisting the medical provider to be more efficient and productive
  • Entering data into patient's electronic record; scanning and indexing documents accurately to patient's electronic medical records
  • Transcribing the patient's history and physical exam
  • Documenting consultations
  • Greeting patients
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Other duties as assigned by Clinical Coordinator, Physician and Mid-Level provider

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Medical Scribe Certification preferred
  • Minimum of six months experience as a medical scribe
  • Pain Management Practice prior experience helpful
  • Cooperative work attitude towards co-employees, management, patients, visitors, and physicians

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Previous knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner-- able to counsel/teach customers, train co-workers, and positively contribute to marketing/public relations. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients, regulatory agencies, or members of the medical and business community.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and EHR management

HOURS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Our medical clinics are located in Florida and Texas and are open Monday through Friday. Work hours will typically be 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (may be subject to change with clinic case load).
Hazards: Occasional contact with communicable diseases, electrical equipment, blood borne pathogens, etc.
Personal protective equipment: Provided if necessary (gowns, gloves, masks, head cover)
