Job description

HEAD CAKE DECORATOR

Khair Foods LLC • Levittown, NY 11756

Full-Time or Part-Time • $25–$30 per hour

Are you an artist at heart with a passion for all things sweet? Khair Foods LLC is looking for a skilled and imaginative Cake Decorator to join our talented culinary team in Levittown, NY. In this role, you will channel your creativity and technical precision to transform beautifully baked cakes into show-stopping edible works of art. Your craftsmanship will bring joy to our customers and elevate our bakery’s reputation — because we believe every cake should be as breathtaking to look at as it is delicious to eat.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Create and execute cake designs based on customer specifications, set templates, and seasonal or themed collections
  • Mix, prepare, and apply a variety of finishes including buttercream, fondant, ganache, whipped cream, and decorative accents
  • Produce custom creations for milestone celebrations such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events, and holidays
  • Execute clean, precise piping including borders, script lettering, rosettes, and floral detail
  • Review orders thoroughly to ensure all details — from written inscriptions to design choices and due dates — are executed accurately
  • Work closely with bakers, counter staff, and management to maintain a smooth and efficient production schedule
  • Monitor decorating supply inventory and flag low stock levels to management in a timely manner
  • Engage warmly with customers to guide them through custom order options and provide a memorable experience
  • Uphold a spotless, organized workspace that meets all applicable health and food safety standards

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum 3 years of professional cake decorating experience (required)
  • Strong fondant work and 3D sculpting skills
  • Clean, confident piping — rosettes, script, borders, and floral work
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet daily production deadlines
  • Sharp eye for detail with a natural sense of design, color, and presentation
  • Confident communication skills for working with customers and translating their vision into finished cakes
  • Solid understanding of food safety, sanitation protocols, and hygiene standards
  • A portfolio of your work (REQUIRED — please include photos of at least 3 cakes with your application)
  • A positive, team-first attitude

SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY

  • We welcome both full-time and part-time candidates — we are flexible for the right person
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as business needs require
  • Availability for early morning shifts is a plus

INTERVIEW PROCESS

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview that includes a practical, hands-on skills test. This is your opportunity to demonstrate your decorating technique in person — we want to see your talent shine. You will be asked to showcase fondant work, piping skills, and your ability to work to a brief. No need to be nervous; it’s simply your chance to show us what you do best.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive pay: $25–$30 per hour
  • Annual bonus
  • Annual paid vacation and paid time off
  • Employee discount
  • Opportunities for advancement within the company
  • Supportive, creative team environment where your talents are valued
  • Immediate start available

HOW TO APPLY

To be considered, please submit your resume along with photos of at least 3 cakes you have personally decorated. Applications submitted without a portfolio will not be reviewed. We look forward to seeing your work!
