Job description

The Back of the House Staff is responsible for assisting with the production of bakery items, ensuring product quality, and maintaining cleanliness and safety in the kitchen. The Baker I works under the guidance of senior bakers to prepare high-quality baked goods, following established recipes and standards. This role requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Production Support

  • Assist in preparing doughs, batters, and fillings according to specified recipes and instructions.
  • Ensure accurate scaling, measuring, and portioning of ingredients.

Baking and Preparation

  • Operate ovens, mixers, and other bakery equipment under the supervision of senior bakers.
  • Bake and monitor products to ensure they meet quality and consistency standards.

Quality Control

  • Conduct regular checks for product quality, adjusting baking times and temperatures as needed.
  • Report any inconsistencies or quality concerns to the Head Baker.

Inventory and Stocking

  • Monitor ingredients and supplies, ensuring that stock is adequately maintained and rotated.
  • Notify supervisors of any shortages or necessary reorders.

Cleanliness and Maintenance
