Job description

LOCATION: 5211 FM 2920, Ste 102 Spring, TX 77388 Some travel to nearby Kingwood location as needed with doctor. 

POSITION SUMMARY
Contributes to the organization by overseeing the various tasks of the front desk. The Receptionist will assist patients in-person and over-the-phone with checking-in and out, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, processing payments, handling copays, and other tasks while providing exemplary customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide superior patient care services, treating all patients and guests with compassion and respect.
Greets all patients and guests with a smile and helpful manner.
Communicates effectively with others including but not limited to patients, guests, colleagues and physicians.
Provide patients with necessary instructions or directions.
Process patient documentation and update patient demographics with accuracy.
Triage incoming calls promptly and in a pleasant manner. Review all phone messages and return calls timely and/or direct messages to appropriate person.
Verify insurance and determine if prior authorizations or referrals are required for upcoming appointments.
Close-out daily batches promptly and with accuracy.
Maintains a clean and organized waiting room and work area.
Travel may be required to surrounding HEA offices to provide front desk coverage when needed.
Must meet and adhere to HEAs policies and procedures, uphold to the highest ethical principles and patient confidentiality. Complies with all State and Federal regulations.
Other duties as assigned based on business operational needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Work is performed in an office environment. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations.
