Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, and facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

 
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on machines, equipment, and plant facilities as well as emergency and unscheduled repairs.
  • Perform installation of new and retrofit equipment and machinery in a quality and timely manner. Test and validate operability
  • Perform job duties in a safe and efficient manner. Comply with safety regulations including proper lockout/tagout procedures
  • Communicates regularly with production manager/supervisor regarding problems or issues impacting production equipment
  • Communicates daily with Planning & Scheduling to ensure efficient repairs and maintenance of equipment while ensuring optimal machine utilization
  • Remains active on the floor including providing "hands-on" trouble shooting and maintenance of production equipment
  • Generates maintenance logs and documents related to operating metrics such as OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency)
  • Participates in the daily shift meetings

Qualifications 

  • Able to work efficiently with a high level of attention to detail and follow through skills
  • Willing to be accountable for the level of quality work produced
  • Full-time position, work schedule is 40 hours or more in a seven day operation
  • Overtime may be required periodically. Occasional work on another shift may be required
  • Education and/or experience: Associates Degree and /or 10 years experience in the plastics equipment maintenance industry
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical machinery is required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics is required

Working Conditions

This position operates in a manufacturing facility where employees are exposed to various environmental factors, including but not limited to noise, dust, odors, and temperature fluctuations. The role may require standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required in designated areas. The company prioritizes employee safety and maintains strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures. While every effort is made to ensure a safe and healthy work environment, employees must remain vigilant and follow all safety guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
