This role is ideal for a physician who values clinical autonomy, flexibility, variety, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment. The part-time schedule is structured as a minimum of 4 shifts per month in clinic, with a combination of rotating weekdays and weekends.

In addition to providing direct patient care, this position includes formal supervising physician responsibilities for assigned APPs. The supervision model is structured, compliant, and clearly documented. Physicians are assigned to supervise a defined group of APPs and receive a monthly stipend for each APP supervised.

Clinicians at NextCare enjoy true work-life balance, including no after-hours patient inbox responsibilities, flexible scheduling, and monthly schedules released in advance.

You will be supported by experienced clinical teams, clear practice guidelines, strong peer relationships, and accessible medical leadership who provide real-time guidance and mentorship. The work is engaging and varied, with a broad patient population and generally low-acuity presentations that keep skills sharp without the pressure of inpatient follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
  • Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs, x-rays, and EKGs

This is a structured and compliant supervision model with clearly defined expectations, protocols, and policies. Professional malpractice insurance is provided by NextCare.

Supervision responsibilities are ongoing and require steady weekly engagement, including:

  • Scheduled chart review blocks
  • Regular feedback and coaching

  • Compliance documentation
  • Collaboration with medical leadership, operations, and credentialing

The physician is expected to be available during normal clinic operating hours for:

  • Clinical questions
  • Escalations
  • Prescribing questions
  • Scope-of-practice guidance

Additional supervision details:

  • Physicians are not independently liable for NP practice
  • PA supervision occurs within defined scope, protocols, and company policies
  • Professional malpractice insurance is provided by NextCare
