Certified Respiratory Therapist PRN

Job Summary and Qualifications

Administers all therapy modalities to adult, neonatal and pediatric patients per physicians ' orders.

Is responsible for the initiation, operation, monitoring and weaning of patients with mechanical ventilators.

Performs arterial puncture, and blood gas and electrolyte analysis.

Responds to all code blue situations.

Assists in the transport of all critically ill patients within and outside the hospital.

Checks all physician orders prior to therapy and gives thorough, accurate report to oncoming shift.

Enters all patient contacts in Ameritech.

Participates in all areas of departmental duties, including EKG's, Pulmonary Function Tests and assists in new employee orientation and continuing education.

Performs regular equipment rounds.

Other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • (CRT-State) Certified Respiratory Therapist
