Job description

DESCRIPTION: On-site Waste Management Support for an industrial client. Hazmat and/or Hazardous Waste handling and profiling experience is required. Recent College Grads are encouraged to apply. This is a part-time position that could lead to full time and offers room for growth to qualified candidates.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Provide interim hazardous waste collection from satellite accumulation areas and transport to the central accumulation area.
  • Manage all hazardous and residual waste generation throughout the facility:
    • Collect samples, characterize, and profile newly generated waste.
  • Ensure all state and federal regulations are abided by during the packaging, storing, and disposal of waste:
    • Promptly coordinate the transfer of waste to the Central Accumulation Area.
    • Ensure the waste is properly packaged within appropriate containers.
    • Ensure the waste is properly labeled, waste codes are identified, and the start date is visible.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping of waste within the facility:
    • Complete weekly checks of the Satellite Accumulation Areas.
    • Complete daily checks of the Central Accumulation Area.
    • Drum pour offs, repackaging, and drum organization.
  • Coordinate and conduct waste shipments with various vendors:
    • Collect quotes from various vendors and provide this information to the EHS department.
    • Assist vendors while onsite.
  • Complete weekly checks of the Universal Waste Area:
    • Collect, segregate, and package various types of light bulbs, batteries, and ballasts.
    • Manage aerosol disposal program.
  • Assist with the cleanup of spills throughout the facility:
    • Work with various departments to ensure spills are properly cleaned up.
  • Other EHS Responsibilities may be assigned by client to qualified candidates.

TRAVEL:

  • Primarily in Southwestern Pennsylvania/Southeastern Ohio region.
  • This position requires occasional daily travel; a valid driver’s license is required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Associates degree (e.g. – safety, environmental or related area of academic focus)
